Happy New Year everyone and congratulations to anyone who got engaged over the Christmas period. In today's blog we are looking back at one of our favourite weddings from 2018.
Last year, in early November, we created wedding flowers for Alice and Marc. Their wedding ceremony was held at the stunning Orleans House Gallery, Twickenham followed by a reception at The Wharf, Teddington.
A few months before the wedding we met Alice to chat through her ideas and to give her lots of insight as to what flowers were in season and in keeping with her theme. Alice's brief were for the wedding flowers to nod towards the season. She wished for rich and warm Autumn tones such as berry, red and coral, paired with blush and an injection of burgundy. Alice was also keen to incorporate berries and lots of seasonal foliage.
For the bridal flowers we selected beautiful locally grown hydrangeas, chocolate cosmos and chrysanthemums, in particularly the lovely "Avignon" chrysanthemum variety which has a subtle nude/ blush colour and long frilly long petals. These flowers were paired with ruffly garden roses, astilbe, euphorbia, sanguisorba and chocolate cosmos, which is our ultimate fav because of it's gorgeous chocolate scent.
The bridal bouquet was arranged in a natural and loose style and tied with a delicate hand dyed silk ribbon.
To add texture and interest we added rose hips and wild clematis, otherwise endearingly known as "old man's beard" for it's fluffy clusters, along with autumn eucalyptus, physocarpus and abelia foliage.
Here's what Alice and Marc had to say:
"Laura did all of the flowers for our wedding at the beginning of the month and they looked absolutely beautiful!! She really listened to what it was we wanted and exceeded our expectations with what she came up with - We could not recommend Laura enough. A very pleasant stress free experience the whole way through!"
Are you planning a 2019 wedding? Why not get in touch so we can discuss all of the exciting flower possibilities.
