Kelly and Mark got married in July in "The Chainstore Room" at Trinity Buoy Wharf. Trinity Buoy Wharf is situated by the river Thames and holds London's only lighthouse. Originally it was a workshop for buoys, lighthouses and lightships. It also housed a workshop for the famous scientist Michael Faraday. Nowadays it has all the charm, character and space of a former working dock, but set in a contemporary location with riverside views facing out onto the Docklands skyline.
We met Kelly and Mark in a Richmond pub to discuss their wedding ideas and visions. Kelly wanted natural, seasonal, blush bridal flowers, paired with grasses and foliage. She was particularly keen on garden roses and dahlias. They wanted their natural and "just picked" flowers to be a perfect juxtaposition with the urban, industrial surroundings of the wharf.
We selected lots of British grown beauties for Kelly and Mark's wedding including dahlias, zinneas, creme brulee phlox, foxgloves, scabious, cosmos, calendula, chocolate cosmos, larkspur, strawflowers, grasses and beautifully scented geranium leaves. Kelly's bouquet was arranged in a romantic and loose style and tied with hand died silk ribbon. Kelly's maids all had smaller versions of her bouquet, so that they had the same feel and look of Kelly's bridal bouquet.
Kelly and Mark opted for a copper flower arch as their ceremony backdrop. The florals adorning the arch were arranged in a natural way so that they appeared to be growing from the structure.
For the table arrangements Kelly and Mark used several gin bottles in all shapes and sizes arranged with beautiful flower stems and the odd herb.
Here's what Kelly and Mark had to say about their big day:
"Petal HQ just did the flowers for our wedding at Trinity Buoy Wharf and they were perfect. My fiancee and I picked them due to the excellent communication and ideas that Laura gave us over email and then in person before the event. The end result was stunning. Laura had taken on board everything we had talked about and the arrangements were beautiful and exactly what we wanted. Lots of guests also told us how good they looked. If you want amazing flowers for your wedding installed by people who are obviously passionate about flowers and with as much as possible sourced within the UK then look no further".
