Are you planning a Spring wedding? Hellebores make a stunning contribution to wedding flowers and could be the perfect bloom for your special day.
Hellebores bring colour in the depths of winter first unfurling their petals from December and flowering through to April. Their romantic, delicate, paper-like flower heads add a delightful garden feel to any arrangement. They come in beautiful colours and patterns, which range from soft pink and mauve to deep purple, antique green, creams and whites.
Hellebores are versatile when it comes to wedding flowers and can be used in any floral arrangement from bridal bouquets, flower crowns and buttonholes. Their variation in tones mean they look brilliant paired with pretty much anything, whether it's gorgeous spring flowers or wintery greens.
At Petal HQ we source our hellebores from a local grower and when they are in season we can be found crawling around the flower beds oohing and aahing over the delicate nodding blossoms.
A little fun fact.... Hellebores were extensively used as a herbal remedy in the past and in medieval times were often planted by the front door to break bad spells and curses. So not only beautiful but lucky too, what's not to love?!
